Escapes into the Vivid

The Plunge, Oil on Canvas, 50x70 cm, 2025

The Plunge is built in many layers to create an ambiguity of visual planes. On a thick Burnt Sienna background, optical illusion shapes appear as floating in a warm, alien environment where light effects play an essential role.

My recent series, “Escapes into the Vivid”, marks a significant evolution in my artistic practice. Transitioning from diverse mediums to the rich texture of oil on canvas, I have sought to encapsulate the delicate interplay between the real and the imaginative.

Embers of Memories, Oil on 100x80 cm canvas, 2025

Embers of Memories creates a strong impression of a volcanic environment where the border of representation is blurred, favoring chromatic abstraction. The choice of colors emanates warmth and the details resembling flames seem to dissolve into dark-shaped embers, all surrounding the canvas in an atmospheric dance.

In these pieces, blurred shapes conjure dreamlike landscapes where boundaries dissolve, eliciting a sense of wonder and introspection

The colors in these two paintings create the impression of a sunset, covered in smoke, the mysterious diptych evokes a scene from another planet, Ulu, born in the imagination of the artist.
